CONVERSATION “DEEP AND COLLECT”

편안한 대화를 하기 위해서는 사람과 사람이 가장 편안한 자세와 시선, 그리고 대화를 방해하는 외부 자극을 최소로 만드는 것이다. 장호석이 국내 가구 브랜드 비아인키노(WIE EIN KINO)와의 협업을 통해 출시하는 가구 라인 'Conversation(대화)'은 원형 다이닝 테이블과 사이드 테이블, 깊이감 있는 디자인의 소파로 구성됐다.  소파는 기존의 클래식한 형태에, 착석 부분을 깊게 만들어 줌으로써, 좀 더 편안히 이용할 수 있도록 디자인하였다. 이는 앉고 누울 수도, 혹 두 명이 함께 누워 대화를 할 수도 있도록 고안하여 제작하였다.  다이닝 테이블은 원형 형태의 디자인으로 여러 세대 사람들이 같은 시선으로 서로를 바라보며 대화할 수 있게 디자인하였다. 블랙 유리 상판은 무수한 이야깃거리가 담겨있는 깊은 호수를 비유하며, 층층의 조각 튜브 받침은 서로의 각기 다른 이야기들이 쌓여나가는 대화를 의미한다. 또한 튜브 받침은 분리 조립이 되어 커피 테이블로도 사용할 수 있게 제작하였다. 다이닝 테이블과 같은 원형의 사이드 테이블은 그 용도로 사용이 가능할 뿐만 아니라 스툴로도 이용할 수 있도록 디자인되었다.

To create an atmosphere for the most comfortable position, gaze and conversation, the external disturbance needs to be minimized. HoSuk Jang and Korean furniture brand WIE EIN KINO release new furniture line collaboration ‘Conversation.’ It is composed of a round dining table, a side table, and a sofa designed with well-considered depth.  The design amplifies the relaxation by adding depth to the traditional form of a classic sofa. In his design process, the designer considered various circumstances–such as sitting or lying down–as two people have a conversation.   Dining table is in round shape to make anyone share the same view while having a conversation. Black glass tabletop is a metaphor for a deep lake filled with countless stories. Layered tube props underneath the tabletop represent a conversation that diverse stories pile up together. Moreover, tube props can be separated and used as a coffee table. Side table is the same round design as the dining table, that can also be used as a stool.
