전시에 있는 사진들은 특별한 주제도, 테마도 없다. 그냥 ‘보여주는 사진’ 전시이다. 

지금까지의 전시는 특별한 주제로 다가간 것이라면, 이 전시는 개인적인 이야기를 더해 좀 더 자유롭게 보여주고 싶었다.

평소에 내가 무엇을 하였는지, 슈퍼마켓에서 무엇을 샀는지, 그저 그런 것들에 대한 나의 일상적인 이야기이다. 

 

어떻게 보면 ‘Sloppy (엉성함)' 그 자체가 주제일 수도 있다. 

하지만 사진을 찍고 보여주는 기본은 언제나 존재한다. 사진에 대한 질을 지키는 것이다. 

아무리 일상적인 사진이라도 누군가에게 전달되는 마지막 과정인 ‘인화’에 대한 존경심은 지키는 것이다. 

어떻게 보면 이 전시는 ‘사진’이라는 매체에 대한 나의 존경심을 보여주는 전시일지도 모르겠다.

The photographs in this exhibition do not hold specific topics, or themes. It’s just an ‘image-showing’ exhibition. 

I wanted to tell my personal story without any restriction, rather than structuring an exhibition with a particular subject matter.

It’s a daily narrative about small things about my life, such as what I did that day, what I bought at the supermarket, et cetera. 

 

To some extent, ‘Sloppy’ itself may be the motif. 

But the fundamentals for the act of taking a picture and showing them are always present. It’s to defend the quality of photography. 

Even if the story is about petty everyday things, I want to respect the last phase of the delivery process that is ‘print’. 

This exhibition may be for me to sincerely show respect to photography as a medium.
