저의 작품은 저의 언어를 구성하는 틀입니다. 저만의 어휘이자 문법이지요. 저의 메시지는 다시 흙으로 되돌아갈 수 있습니다. 흙은 제 작업의 중심이며 존재 그 자체로 드러내고자 했습니다.

 

흙이란 우리의 미래이자 과거이며, 충분한 시간이 더해져 역사가 됩니다. 선조들이 남긴 유산을 상징하고, 우리 사회의 장로들을 뜻합니다. 포스트-모던의 환멸을 위해, 보는 이가 과거의 전통과 접점을 찾을 수 있도록 중심에 두었습니다.

 

우리는 과거의 것들과 접점을 찾아야만 합니다. 그리고 그 행위는 과거로 되돌아가거나 과거를 반복하는 것이 아니라는 것을 깨달아야합니다. 회귀하고 격하하는 것이 아니라 오늘날 우리의 모습 그대로, 우리의 꿈을 그대로 안은 채 접점을 찾는 것이죠. 무한한 사랑과 행복을 경험함으로서 우리가 이해하는 삶의 연속성이 총체적으로 발현됩니다. 도돌이표처럼 우리를 갈라놓는 것은 시시한 개념적인 것들과 사상 뿐이에요. 이를 초월하여 인류를 포용하는 깊은 이해, 억압의 현상, 우리를 진리로부터 멀어지게 할 뿐인 기표임을 깨닫게 됩니다. 육체, 영혼, 잠재의식, 장르, 나이, 근원, 필요, 욕망, 그 모든 것이 (상상 속)올가미라는 사실을요. 인류가 자신을 옥죄던 족쇄를 벗어 던질 날이 온 것이죠.

 

지금까지 인간들이 해왔던 옳고 그름 가리는 모든 행위들을 습작이라고 생각하면, 우리는 이제 경험을 바탕으로 삶의 모든 형태 안에서 진정 무엇이 중요하고, 유용하며, 유익하고, 보람있는지 생각하고 결정할 수 있습니다.

My work is the frame of my language, the lexic and the grammar, and what it said can be resumed by the soil. It is the H/EART/H of my work, not as a medium, but as its presence.    

 

Soil is what came before us. It is made of past lives, it is the addition of time, it is History, it is a symbol of legacy and the elders. It exists in the center to recall the need to reconnect with the tradition to overcome the illusion of post-modernity.    

 

So today we have to reconnect with the ancient way–but not to redo it, as a regression, a downgrade–we have to redo it as we are today, with new dreams and ways to understand the contiguity of life. Through infinite love and bliss, the holistic integration of all manifestations, the prevalence of the being as a deep understanding of what is humankind beyond bounderies of all what divide us in pieces are mostly just concepts and politic ideologies. The expression of power on people is a frame that freezes our being, like a jail with some representations that are not able to discribe the truth: body, spirit, subconscious, genres, ages, origins, needs, desires.

 

We could say that everything that has been done until now was sketches of everything that could be done, good and bad, and now we can start to decide from our experience of what is relevant, useful, virtuous and rewarding in all aspects of life.
